Part Time Signals Share New Single “Look Out The Other Window” Taken From Forthcoming EP “The Window” Due March 14th via Bubblewrap Collective
We first introduced you to the almighty sounds of Part Time Signals back in 2023, following their debut album release in the Autumn of that year via Bubblewrap Collective, we are now delighted to share new music from the Cardiff quartet.
The four-piece are back and will be released their new 5-track EP March 14th, having already shared the first single from the EP “The Window”, the band have now unveiled their second track titled “Look Out The Other Window”.
The band say “the song shares similar chordal structures and melodies to the original idea [Look Out The Window] whilst developing the ideas further. Overall it has a much more positive message, it’s about seeing change over time through the lens of a window, and embracing it rather than feeling disdainful.”
The delicate ambience and analogue hiss captured from the start of this song, truly convey the authenticity of this outfit and their full-bodied, melodic new ensemble. Delicate rhythms carve through the serene soundscape, the track carefully weaves the hand-played drums and the bright percussion with the deeply moving and enveloping vocal harmonies. Part Time Signals have this effortless talent where they produce such complex and far-reaching soundscapes that immediately consume the audience, the vocal notes offer this warmth and brightness that feels almost like this singer has forged soulful paths already.
The gentle pace and ethereal harmonies glide with the vivid layers of the ensemble, charming and affectionate. Part-Time Signals displays its power to provide a wealth of imagery through its tonality, lyrics, and the affection of the soulful arrangement.
The single is ready to deliver this infectious flair with the EP bringing further excitement.
The song was self-recorded at Giant Wafer Studios in Mid Wales in February 2024, and features a multitude of layers including hand-played drums, phased guitars and percussion. The recording was mixed & produced by the band’s bassist Sam Barnes.
Part Time Signals are a four piece band from Cardiff, Wales. Jacob Church (Sock), Michael Blanchfield (ANGHARAD), Gavin Jenkins (Rainbow Maniac, KEYS, Show Dogs) and Sam Barnes (Boy Azooga, AhGeeBe, Sock). Their full-length debut album ‘Another Day In Paradise‘ was released 20th October 2023 with Bubblewrap Collective both digitally and with a limited run of vinyl copies.
After recording their first album, BBC Horizons funding made it possible for the band to spend a whole week recording at Giant Wafer Studios in Mid Wales. The band are currently gearing up to release a 5 track EP titled ‘The Window’. The EP will serve as a precursor to the band’s second album which is set to be released later in the year. Making full use of the instruments, recording equipment and time available at the studio, this hefty recording session has seen the band take stock with a plethora of new songs, evolving into amore refined and maturing sound.
