Shelton Day 2023 To Feature Live Music, Entertainment For Kids

SHELTON, CT — Shelton Day is set for Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park, located at 38 Canal Street in downtown Shelton.

Hosted by the Derby-Shelton Rotary, live music will include Liquid Love, a Freddie Hubbard tribute band featuring Dave Livolsi, Dan Donofrio, Mike Godette, Greg LaPine, Darren Litzie and Tyger MacNeal. They will play from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., according to a news release provided by the organization.

Eight to the Bar, a popular six-piece swing band will play from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“I’m so excited that Shelton Day is just a few days away,” Shelton Day Chairman Joe Shapiro said in a news release. “We have some great music planned, delicious food, adult beverages, lots of interesting vendors and several attractions for the kiddies. See you there.”

Mrs. Connecticut American Liza Lee Gambino will be in the Rotary Tent at 11 a.m. She will also speak briefly and introduce Mayor Mark Lauretti at noon.

Bad Sons Beer Company, Jones Winery Wines and White Hills Distillery Bourbon, as well as coffee and hot cocoa will be available for purchase at the Rotary Beverage Garden.

For the younger audience, Roaming Railroad, pony rides, and a petting zoo will be available from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting.

“I love our Shelton Day festival which we have every year,” Kim Ryan-Caro, president of the Derby-Shelton Rotary, said in a news release. “It’s fun for the whole family…seeing everyone enjoy themselves is so rewarding.”
